“ 2018 The Marlene Bar, named after the famous German singer and actress Marlene Deitrich, is quite a sophisticated venue to meet up with work colleagues or friends. I found the staff quite warm and friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed my ‘Marlene hamburger’ supposedly reminiscent of how she enjoyed her hamburgers. The fries were crisp and crunchy. Thanks to an excellent barista, my coffee was perfect and the little slice of complimentary chocolate cake was divineI did try a glass of German sparkling wine but it was just okay. I’m looking forward to returning. 2025 Back in Berlin again for the marathon. This time I ordered a Thai Curry. It was a vegetarian curry with the sauce on the side. The vegetables were colourful and fresh and the dish quite tasty. It was a small meal which suited me and the bread rolls (which were rock hard) were livened up with a whipped herbed butter. I thought the dish was expensive for the size - at least by Australian standards. (24 euro is roughly 48AUD) I did enjoy my non alcoholic cocktail. A berry fizz ”
“ Our experience in this bar started with a bit of a disappointment in terms of the service we expect at IHG. After giving them this feedback, Sören and his team worked very hard to show their best side and they really impressed us with their service. We are very happy how they responded to our feedback and make us feel very welcomed in this lovely hotel bar! ”
“ Upscale bar and restaurant inside the Intercontinental Hotel. We came for cocktails, the whiskey sour and cosmopolitan were excellent. Beautiful interior, friendly staff, and a good selection of cocktails and seasonal drinks (like Glühwein during Christmas season). It's on the pricier end by Berlin standards but would happily come again. ”
“ Delighted with the bread spreads to start. The veal schnitzel was delicious and perfectly cooked. Espresso and creme bruelle to finish the meal was absolutely ”
“ I didn’t have high expectations on the food at Marlene, but I was hungry, it was late, and I didn’t want to leave the hotel. So I gave it a shop and I left quite impressed! Then service was excellent, the atmosphere was quiet, relaxed, and glamorous, and I really enjoyed the traditional Schnitzel I had paired with a delicious German wheat beer. I heard the cheeseburger is also a popular choice. The award-winning restaurant might be Hugos, but Marlene is also really good! ”
